Chemical engineering

BMEGEVGAV03

Briefly about the subject

The subject is part of the professional core curriculum and is a mandatory subject taught in the second semester. Its task is to develop and shape the engineering perspective of students studying at the Faculty of Chemical Engineering, and to teach the mechanical engineering knowledge necessary for chemical engineers. This helps to acquire professional knowledge aimed at developing, designing and operating technological systems, which is included among the professional competencies to be acquired.

Theoretical training describes the characteristics, handling and transportation of chemical raw materials (gas, liquid, solid particles). The above is supported by basic theoretical knowledge of fluid mechanics and mechanics. It introduces you to the operating characteristics, structure, operation, areas of application and selection of the most commonly used mechanical equipment in the chemical industry.

The discussion of the material takes into account the students’ mathematical preparation and continuously builds on mathematical knowledge.

Students gain practical knowledge related to the subject in the Chemical Engineering Practice course. They receive it as part of a course that covers the basics of technical drawing and laboratory measurements.
