About us<\/h3><\/div>

The Department has been led by intellectual giants such as the iconic inventor Don\u00e1t B\u00e1nki (the founder of the Department in 1899), the legendary professor G\u00e9za Pattanty\u00fas-\u00c1brah\u00e1m, and J\u00f3zsef Varga, known for his deep industrial experience and broad cultural knowledge. All of them were recognized not only for their outstanding theoretical expertise, engineering intuition, international perspective, and sense of social responsibility, but also for their exceptional personal qualities. For this reason, they were highly respected by both colleagues and students alike. <\/p>\n

The Department of Hydrodynamic Systems has undergone numerous name changes and research profile changes during its more than 125-year history, but its spirit has remained unchanged. The staff of the Department have cultivated and cultivate mathematics and theoretical modeling at a high level, but they also considered\/consider conscientious experimental work to be equally important, for which the background is provided by the 900 m 2<\/sup> laboratory. We are characterized by rigor, consistency, and maintaining professional standards in education, while at the same time being characterized by a friendly tone and partnership with students. Among the staff of the Department, professional standards and friendly, collegial relations, and helping each other have become part of our everyday lives. <\/p>\n

We are committed to building strong and fruitful international collaborations. Currently, we maintain active research partnerships with universities in the United Kingdom, Germany, Austria, Portugal, Slovenia, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Italy. We believe it is essential that our research is internationally connected and aligned with the latest developments in the field. We also place great importance on working closely with both Hungarian and international companies, which ensures a continuous stream of exciting and practically relevant industrial projects. <\/p>\n

Today, our traditional expertise in hydraulic machinery mainly plays a role in education and industry-related projects. In the past 20 years, we have expanded into several new research areas, including hemodynamics, pressure-regulating devices, bubble dynamics and sonochemistry, flow stability, and the behavior of non-Newtonian fluids. <\/p>\n

Our Department is a close-knit and professionally dedicated community with strong international and industrial ties. Former students and PhD graduates like often to return to us.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>
