On 17 October 2025, our department celebrated the 125th anniversary of its foundation. After a welcome speech by the Rector Charaf Hassan, Gy\u00f6rgy Pa\u00e1l, Head of the Department, gave a presentation on the history of the Department. This was followed by professional presentations and speeches by the industrial partners who supported the event. The professional community of almost 100 participants worshipped the bust of Don\u00e1t B\u00e1nki, the founder of the Department, at the bottom of Building K. G\u00e1bor Hal\u00e1sz, L\u00e1szl\u00f3 Kullmann and Gy\u00f6rgy Pa\u00e1l, the three living Heads of the Department, former and current, placed the wreath on the statue’s pedestal. The event ended with a reception and a tour of the department’s laboratory. <\/p>\n

We are proud that the spirit of the iconic inventor Don\u00e1t B\u00e1nki, the legendary professor G\u00e9za Pattanty\u00fas-\u00c1brah\u00e1m and the industrially experienced J\u00f3zsef Varga still pervades our department! We were delighted to see so many enthusiastic, happy and bright faces at the ceremony! <\/p>\n
